"I've Lost My Mojo!"

Holy smokes it is June. J-U-N-E folks, June! While there has been that little voice in the back of my mind saying "gee you really haven't been spending any time at the ole' blog have you" it really didn't click until I looked at the calendar today.

I haven't updated in nearly a month. So where have I/we been, what have we been up to? Well, we've been a little MIA around these parts-- to be honest this will be the first weekend in five weeks (count 'em, 5!) that we'll actually be at home. Spring came early and hot for us this year, so we've been here mostly:

Camping at The Island, trekking across those private four acres, swashbuckling (or pretending to) with machetes, clearing brush and postulating about the near future. Mostly just relaxing with Jesse's dad, our dogs, fishing, hammock napping, and living every weekend like it's the ultimate vacation.

Unfortunately all this awesome getaway-relax-to-the-max time has taken it's toll on the time we spend doing things at home, like mowing the lawn, weeding the garden or DIY'ing our hearts out. We've been whittling away at our staggeringly long projects list for a while, but haven't made any crazy progress, on anything.

But that's okay. As much as I would like to be an every day blogger-fantastico-extraordinaire, that Just. Isn't. Going. To. Happen. And I am okay with that. You see, Jesse and I have spent many long years turning procrastination into an art form. All that rigorous training isn't going to be forgotten overnight. Neither of us is a typical 'Type A' personality, and no matter how hard we try to mould ourselves into the likeness of Martha Stewart, I just don't think it fits us (you know like a pair of jeans that look really really great on other people but are just terribly uncomfortable and not at all fashionable on oneself).

We may be the slowest renovators/DIYers on the planet, but it isn't a race (and we're non-competetive anyway) and to tell the truth taking so much needed R&R at the lake is exactly what everyone needed to break out of the winter-is-over-and-life-is-stressful-funk that we had been in.

But I haven't been entirely delinquent. I've been bitten by the Instagram bug and have been micro-blogging like a fiend this past month (oh iPhone 4S how I heart you!). For those of you who aren't using Instagram or don't know what it is, don't ask questions. Just download the app for your smart phone, you'll thank me later.

As much as I love snapping quick and spontaneous photos to share with friends,  I've been following along with some of the photo a day challengers for a while and I have to say it looks pretty fun. So this month I'm jumping on that bandwagon. Here's the prompt list for June from Chantelle over at Fat Mum Slim, for any of you that may be curious. 1. I'm biased, but I think North Western Ontario (and it's 10,000 lakes) is one of the most beautiful places on Earth -- we're very blessed to have a little slice of paradise for ourselves. :)

I'd live out on the Island if I could, but it would certainly complicate the commute!

I'm hoping to stick with the photo a day too. We'll see!
